My gardening bench
Our weather here in San Diego has been picture perfect which puts me in the mood to get my hands dirty. When my husband and I first were married, he made a work bench for our garage. Since we moved the workbench was not being used so I gave it a fresh coat of paint and turned it into my gardening bench.
I added some hooks to hold some tools, hats and gloves.
Brought some indoor artwork outside.
Used an old wine box to store my pots
It looks lovely Kristin, like something out of a magazine. 😉
It looks great, Kristin. Glad the weather in San Diego is so nice (I love that area, I used to live in Southern Cali). Over here it's okay, about 65 degrees but overcast. I need some sunshine! Please send some my way. Have a great week.
It all looks great Kristin! That sunshine looks awfully good too! 🙂
Enjoy your day.
So pretty Kristin! You have quite a variety of gorgeous flowers!
Very pretty, and a breath of fresh air. We have had rain, hail, strong winds and snow this weekend! Luckily nothing stayed on the ground and at least some of our bulbs are peeking out of the ground.
It looks wonderful, Kristin! A place I'd want to spend a good amount of time. I have a potting bench out on the deck that was a 1940's enamel table. And I have a wooden one inside in my kitchen holding my pots and pans!
Love that old workbench turned potting bench and all the variety of pots/flowers. Great color! It looks beautiful and sunny! We have sun but it's windy and hard to do anything outside.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
Such sunny pictures! Could you send some sun over???? I'm in desperate need of some.
Very pretty and perfect pictures of the bench and the way you 'dressed' it. Love the colour you put on the workbench.
Great header too!
That is a great potting bench and your flowers are beautiful. I'll be glad when its warm and sunny in NJ.
Kristen, your bench looks wonderful! I hope one day to get to San Diego, must put that on my "bucket list"!!!! Love the lily, that pink is gorgeous! XO, Pinky
Completely gorgeous! You did a fantastic job putting it together. It's an inspiration!
makes me want to see more of your garden…….????? xoox, tracie
It looks great! The weather has been nice here in California hasn't it! I'm already getting a little bit tan. The sun feels good. Look forward to seeing what you plant!
ahhh! I wish so much that we were having that weather here! I can't wait to start gardening:)
It's perfect! I've been working in my yard and garden this weekend. It's one of my very favorite things to do in the spring. Signs of spring make me happy!
Hi Kristin, you might just have given me the push I needed to spruce up mine. Looking a bit rough on the edges… thank you.
Yours looks wonderful.
Love IT and all your gorgeous flowers! xo Debra
It looks great Kristin! All your beautiful flowers make me long for spring. I love having a potting bench. I'm going to have to get myself one of those this summer.
Looks Beautiful Kristin!! Martina
What a cute gardening bench, Kristin!! I love the container plants you have on it. I would love to have a gardening bench again. I loved mine, but had to give it away the last time we moved.
What a great potting space! I have it on my to-do list to make one to replace the overly-weathered one I've been using.
A potting bench, now that's what I need. I was sitting on the ground yesterday, potting some of my plants 🙂 Beautiful photos!! We've had wonderful weather up here in the high desert too.
Kristen,it should be in a gardening magazine..looks so pretty!!!! x0
Your weather looks beautiful. We had some more snow today. Such a great gardening space!
Ahhh that does look picture perfect all the way around. I love those pots!
SO PRETTY! and I have a favor to ask…could you send a little bit of that gorgeous sun my way pretty please?
It looks so pretty, Kristin. I love your potting bench. I'm spending the week in So. CA and it certainly is gorgeous weather.
I would love to have a potting bench. Might have to add that to the project list. Hope to get our flowers planted soon. It's been a bit cool still and the pollen is still awful. We usually wait until we've washed everything down.
It would even be fun pulling weeds in your lovely spot! It looks perfect!
Your garden bench looks adorable and I love all your pretty flowers!! We woke up to snow this morning, UGH, but it won't last long. 🙂
I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
Beautiful, Kristen !! I love how you brought artwork out to serve as beautiful backdrops for your gorgeous flowers. You spared no expense to detail here … love it !! *Becca*
I love this bench. I recently asked my hubby to build one for me this summer. Fingers crossed. Hugs and please stop by and enter my latest giveaway to win a gorgeous dress.
I am IN LOVE with your potting bench. I am about to ask Mr. Sweet if he will make one, too. I need to go out and gather lumber from somewhere…wonder where I can find some? I am also on the lookout for a LOT of olden windows..I want a small greenhouse made from them. 🙂
I'll be back to link for your Tues. meme.
Love the bench and you styled it beautifully!! So happy for Spring ~
I am in love with that bench!!! So glad the weather is good for you in SD!! Now, the bench will get a lot of use!!
my husband made me one too! except mine has kind of a hutch like top, not enclosed. we just put linseed on it but i love the idea of painting it!
Ah a potting bench is one of the most vital pieces of furniture a home could have.
Love your garden bench and the homemade garden sign too!
Lovely! I can't believe your hydrangeas are already blooming!!! Mine have flowers the size of a hazelnut, and still green of course!
Great minds must think alike!! I just did something similar to an old work bench that I turned into a potting bench! 🙂 It is even close to the same color as yours. I love how yours looks!
I'm so jealous, i wish I could garden. Love this bench, you are inspiring me to beautify my outdoor space!
Hi Kristin, I love your potting bench! The weather has been nice here in Virginia and I have been potting plants and enjoying the sunshine too.
Aaaaahhhh….so pretty! I share your love of home and garden from my La Costa home. My bench needs to be "styled" with old pots and gardening tools to complete my patio. You've given me good inspiration!! Thanks for being such a great source for local finds for me!!
There is just something special about those pots scattered on your bench. I love your blog name! Visiting from Tracie's. ♥olive
With your weather, you are fortunate to be able to have an outdoor potting bench. Mine is inside my garden shed and only operational from May-October as I'm in Ontario.
It's nice to have everything at hand as you have on your bench too.
Can't get over how cool your pots are! love the aged look! thanks for linking up to Cottage Flora Thursdays! xoox, tracie
So beautiful Kristin, I love your charming potting bench and all of your beautiful flowers! Thank you so much for linking up today, what a fun party, so inspirational!
I'm getting ready to the very same thing- turn our old work bench into a potting bench! Thanks for the inspiration! Your bench and blooms look beautiful!
Hey There Kristin,
Along the same lines,, I built a wooden bench and put 2 coats of polyurethane on it. This was before I realized that the can said “Interior Use Only”. I now have a can of the right stuff, but how do I re-prep the bench? Do I have to completely sand it down and take the old stuff off or can I just apply right over the other stuff?
