My gardening bench

Our weather here in San Diego has been picture perfect which puts me in the mood to get my hands dirty.  When my husband and I first were married, he made a work bench for our garage.  Since we moved the workbench was not being used so I gave it a fresh coat of paint and turned it into my gardening bench.
I added some hooks to hold some  tools, hats and gloves.

 Brought some indoor artwork outside.

Used an old wine box to store my pots

And added my homemade garden sign.

I’m definitely loving all the new signs of spring popping up!

I’m so glad I held onto this old workbench my husband made 10 years ago,
A little paint gave it new life!
Thanks for stopping in!
XOXO
Kristin

  1. It looks great, Kristin. Glad the weather in San Diego is so nice (I love that area, I used to live in Southern Cali). Over here it's okay, about 65 degrees but overcast. I need some sunshine! Please send some my way. Have a great week.

  2. Very pretty, and a breath of fresh air. We have had rain, hail, strong winds and snow this weekend! Luckily nothing stayed on the ground and at least some of our bulbs are peeking out of the ground.

  3. It looks wonderful, Kristin! A place I'd want to spend a good amount of time. I have a potting bench out on the deck that was a 1940's enamel table. And I have a wooden one inside in my kitchen holding my pots and pans!

  35. Hey There Kristin,
Along the same lines,, I built a wooden bench and put 2 coats of polyurethane on it. This was before I realized that the can said “Interior Use Only”. I now have a can of the right stuff, but how do I re-prep the bench? Do I have to completely sand it down and take the old stuff off or can I just apply right over the other stuff?
    Cheers
