Cinco De Mayo Cocktails
Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner, a day to observe the Mexican heritage and take in all the great things about the Mexican culture. To help you plan a Cinco de Mayo party, I have a few fun options that can take the place of the popular margarita.
Sparkling Paloma
Ingredients:
2 Parts Mescal (If you can’t find mescal you can use tequila)
Small scoop Grapefruit sorbet
Squeeze of lime juice
Teaspoon Agave
2 parts Grapefruit Sparkling Ice
Directions:
Sprinkle salt on a small plate. Lightly wet the rim of a cocktail glass with a damp paper towel. Dip the moistened rim in salt to coat and add ice, set aside. Combine mescal, sorbet, lime, sparkling ice and agave in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake until chilled. Strain into the cocktail glass and enjoy.

Skinny Margarita
Ingredients
3 oz Lemon Lime Sparkling Ice
1 ½ oz Tequila
Splash of fresh-squeezed orange
Freshly squeezed lime
Directions:
Sprinkle salt on a small plate. Lightly wet the rim of a cocktail glass with a damp paper towel. Dip the moistened rim in salt to coat and add ice, set aside. Combine sparkling ice, tequila, orange and lime in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake until chilled. Strain into the cocktail glass and enjoy. Garnish with a lime slice.
Caliente Margarita
Ingredients:
2 parts Blanco Tequila
1/2 part Gran Gala
4 drops Hellfire Habenero shrub or 3 slices of Jalapeño pepper
Juice of 1/8 lime
1 1/2 parts Lemon Lime Sparkling Ice
Directions:
Lightly wet the rim of a cocktail glass with a damp paper towel. Dip the moistened rim in salt to coat and add ice, set aside.
Combine Tequila, Gran Gala, lime juice, sparkling ice, and peppers in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake until chilled. Strain into the cocktail glass, add a lime wedge, and enjoy.
