Finding Hope

~Hi Friends~

How to begin a post like this, I’m not really sure.  The last week I have seen my darkest moments, despair, hopelessness, my faith and strength tested, spirits crushed…..

Our sweet and spunky Grayson was diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease. (link to video that explains the disease)  We have been at Rady’s Children’s Hospital in the ICU with the best team of doctors and nurses. Every hour changes, sometimes for the best, sometimes for the worst, his heart is fighting, he is in pain, lots of it and I can’t take it away, it’s not fair, please pray for him.

This song is for our Grayson because we will wait, we will not leave, we will be strong. God will fix your flesh, your heart, your joints and your eyes. As the wind blew this horrible disease into our lives it will just as easily blow it away, we will not give up, we love you!

And I came home
Like a stone
And I fell heavy into your arms
These days of darkness
Which we’ve known
Will blow away with this new sun

And I’ll kneel down
Wait for now
And I’ll kneel down
Know my ground

And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you

So break my step
And relent
You forgave and I won’t forget
Know what we’ve seen
And him with less
Now in some way
Shake the excess

But I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you

So I’ll be bold
As well as strong
And use my head alongside my heart
So tame my flesh
And fix my eyes
That tethered mind free from the lies

But I’ll kneel down
Wait for now
I’ll kneel down
Know my ground

Raise my hands
Paint my spirit gold
And bow my head
Keep my heart slow

Cause I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you

Mommy; “I just want to be happy again, I want to go home”

  47. Hi-
I wanted to let you know I understand what you’re going through. Four years ago my son was diagnosed with KD when he was 5. I saw your post today as I was waiting with my son for an appointment with his cardiologist. I love your blog and look at it often. If u have any questions about KD I would be more than happy to answer them. The disease left my son with heart complications that we are still dealing with, but we feel very grateful to live close to an amazing hospital and pediatric cardiologists. I don’t know how close you are to San Diego, but the KD symposium they have there every year is amazing. We’ll keep your son in our thoughts and prayers. -Jen Kiracofe

  48. A good friend on mine’s granddaughter was born in an emergecy c section with no heartbeat and not breathing. She was full term and they did all they could do but she has no brain activity. She did get to bring the whole family together to celebrate and mourn her short life. I forwarded your link. The song is awesome and it is like little Arabella is saying she will wait for everyone. Thank you for sharing. Blessings to Grayson and his loving family and friends. I have been praying for him. Bertram Texas
