Can I just tell you how crazy excited I am to be here at

I’m Melissa.

And, I share my home and DIY projects over at DaisyMaeBelle.

{Named after my 3 Southern girls: Daisy, Anna Belle and Lila Mae.}

I love for friends to stop by.

So, I’d love it if you’d stop by for real sometime…

I’d tell you about the rusty gate that was in a store on our square forever

marked with the dreaded words;

“for display only.”

And, how one day the owner actually decided to sell it.

And, how I couldn’t grab it up quick enough.

I’d tell you about the 100 year old door that I found at a yard sale for $10.

And, how I almost did cartwheels right there in the driveway.

And, how I never knew I wanted an old door,

until I started visiting so many beautiful homes in blog world…

I’d tell you about this hutch that I found at a yard sale 13 years ago,

and how I’ve painted it twice,

and am already thinking how beautiful it would be

painted in a pale green…

I’d show you our family room.

Where every wall is a gallery wall.

Because, I just like the way walls look when they’re full.

And, about how I found this amazing lamp at a yard sale

along with those candlesticks.

And, how brass is finding its way back into my decorating heart…

I’d tell you about that birdcage hanging on the wall.

I saw it in one of my favorite stores on the square,

and I told my husband about how it was one of the most beautiful things I’d ever seen,

and about how I would’ve bought it

if I had any room for it.

And, how the next morning it was waiting for me in the kitchen,

with a note that said how much he loved me and

that not having enough room

had never stopped me before 🙂

I’d tell you about one of my 6 flying pigs.

I just can’t resist them.

I’d show you our kitchen

and tell you about how I finally got to replace our 20 year old “white” linoleum.

And, how I wanted the new floor to be the color of dirt.

Because with 3 kiddos and a golden retriever,

this floor sees its fair share of dirt.

And, I don’t like to mop…

I’d tell you about these dishes that I found at Goodwill.

(Yes, they are the Ballard Designs dishes!)

And, about how I found these 3 ironstone platters there as well.

I’d tell you about the other time

I almost did cartwheels right in the driveway

at another yard sale

when I spotted this huge metal piece.

(They said that it came off of the side of an old building in Kentucky.)

I’d tell you about how I can’t leave anything the same for too long.

Like this little glass top table for instance…

Just got a new look with this standing wreath I made.

And, after I’d told you so much about my house.

I’d want you to tell me all about yours. 🙂

I’d build us a fire,

and we could talk all night… 🙂
