Light Summer Colors For The Master Bedroom
I’m thrilled to be sharing our Master Bedroom decorated in light summer colors as part of the Summer Colors Home Tour hosted by my friend Jennifer from Town and Country Living. When I think of summer decorating, I think of adding vibrant pops of color outdoors and softer colors for the inside. Our master bedroom has been receiving some updates over the past few months and I finally completed the room by adding subtle pinks and gray’s for a calm and relaxing feel.
No matter what color you love, you’ll find inspiring summer decorating ideas every single day this week! Make sure to visit all the amazing talented ladies by following the links at the bottom of this post.
If you’re coming by from Unskinny Boppy , welcome, I love Beth’s style, especially those pops of periwinkle blue!
We have had our typical May gray which will most likely be followed by June gloom so not too much sun here in San Diego but I know it won’t last much longer. The kids get out of school in just a few short weeks and we are all so excited. Although the calendar is quickly filling up, I treasure every moment I have with them, I know in a blink of an eye they will be off to college and I will be longing for those lazy days of summer once again!
The master bedroom is a place in the home where I can disconnect, recharge and SLEEP so I wanted something that was relaxing, calm, cozy and comfortable! Bringing in pillows and throws are my favorite way to bring new colors into a room. I went with a very subtle pink and a light grey that were similar in tone that worked well with our dark wood floors and dark furniture. I loved the pattern and textures of the pillows as well.
By changing out our old comforter which was a dark gray and replacing it with a much lighter grey it really brightened up the whole room. I accessorized using soft pink throw pillows, some of my favorite flowers and the most amazing candle that smells so heavenly.
I know ceiling fans in the master bedroom can be a big debate in some households, for us it’s a must! Summers can get pretty warm here and with a second story master bedroom it gets uncomfortable. Would I love a beautiful statement light above our bed, absolutely but sleep is more important so the ceiling fan isn’t going anywhere. Thank goodness ceiling fans have come along way over the years and my husband surprised me with this beauty not too long ago!
I love how elegant it is and when the crystals catch the sunlight it is absolutely beautiful! It makes it feel like less of a fan and more of a statement piece if that makes sense.
You can order the Ceiling Fan with Light Kit and Remote by clicking on the link.
My piece of advice is to pick a color or two that makes you happy and splash that color around in different areas of the home. Most importantly, enjoy the time you have with loved ones, create memories and enjoy because that is what life is all about!
If you haven’t met our dogs, that is Winston, a rescue found on the streets of LA, he is a huge love. All the dogs (we have three) follow me everywhere I go, I think the other 2 were under the bed as a snapped these pictures.
Although this picture is from about 10 years ago, it’s fun to see the changes we have made over the years.

Beautiful!!! I love that crystal fan you have! I have never seen one like that!!! I hate the look of my fans but my husband can’t live without them.
Kristin, I love the pink and light gray in your bedroom. It looks elegant and serene at the same time. I have a ceiling fan in my bedroom too. Yes, I’d prefer a fancy chandie but this is one room where function takes precedence over form. Thanks for joining the summer colors tour!!
It looks beautiful Kristin! I love your ceiling fan.
What an elegant bedroom. You coordinate beautifully. I love how the mirror, bedspread, and the gorgeous ceiling fan comes together so fabulous. Thanks for sharing.
