Inspire Me Monday
Hello friends and welcome to Inspire Me Monday, thank you for being here! This week has been so hard, we had to say goodbye to our dog Abby and it has been such a heavy week. I wasn’t able to do much until yesterday, Sunday, the sun was finally out and I worked in the garden, made a succulent planter and Ray worked on our fireplace makeover, it felt good!
Ray rescued her from the high kill shelter in San Bernardino, 11 years ago. Her name was Vivian, my mom’s name, but she looked more like an Abby to us. She loved swimming, hiking, escaping, hunting, camping, and road trips, and hated being left alone. We wish we knew more about her story other than she was found on the streets.
Her foster at the time, had never kept a dog he rescued, she was the only one he almost kept until Ray showed up and the only one he let sleep in his bed.
She rolled over on her belly the minute someone walked up to her. She loved us so much and forever changed us. Her heart was tired and she let us know it was time, you lived your best life Abby!

Thank you so much Debra!
My heart goes out to you! It’s not easy losing such a cherished member of the family. Our rescue (who we know nothing about his time before us) is approaching 17(!) so every day with him is a blessing.
Thank you so much for sharing my entry and thanks for hosting us each week!
🙂 Linda
Wow, 17 that is amazing, enjoy every day with your pup!
My heart is so sad for you and your family. Losing a pet is gut-wrenching. I’ve been there too many times. She looks like such a sweet girl. It’s wonderful that you rescued her and in return she gave you many years of love and devotion.
It is the hardest part of having pets but I will never stop, my love for animals is too big. I’m sorry you too have gone through the same, sending love.
I’m so sorry for the loss of Abby. I have no doubt you gave her the best life any dog could have. Big hugs!
Thank you so much Michelle!
