Grey & white kitchen combo's
~Hi Friends~
I have been looking at different options for the kitchen remodel as we wait for one more quote to come in for the mold removal. Let me put it this way, the cost of the mold removal is about the same cost as new cabinets, yup, not good. Ray has been working on quotes for refinancing the home as our wonderful insurance has decided to pay NOTHING. I have a whole lot to say on the subject but thinking it might be best to just stay quiet for now.
I am hoping we can make the white and grey combo work, keeping our upper cabinets and replacing the lowers in a warm grey. I’ll leave you with some of my inspiration pictures while Nate and I snuggle on the couch both sick as dogs. Hopefully I’ll be back sooner then later.

Love all of these inspiration photos, and I’m sure you will put together something beautiful, as you always do. And I can’t BELIEVE that insurance wouldn’t cover the mold issue. Can you appeal?
In our old house, I had two different adjusters come out to look at our roof after a wind storm (that left all of the people on the street getting a new roof). I was declined the first time, but the second adjuster (who was part of a “disaster” team) approved it.
Hang in there.
Oh Kristen, I can’t even imagine the stress you all are dealing with this mold issue! What a nightmare. On the brighter side, I love all these kitchen ideas you’ve posted. I had to pin one, or two… or three! I really want to do the gray cabinets also.
Whenever I see the name of your blog pop up in my inbox, it makes me smile. LOVE the color combos. We just painted our yucky honey maple colored cabinets a charcoal grey and they look amazing. So sorry for your ‘mold’ troubles. As trite as it sounds, this too shall pass and you’ll have a great kitchen when it’s done. Have a beautiful day!
I hope you and Nate feel better real soon. So sorry you both are sick. If I lived closer I would bring you a pot of homemade chicken soup! Beautiful inspiration photos. I love the white and gray together and will cross my fingers it will all work out for you.
What a nightmare! Praying all works out. Loving the gray and white combos.
We have a gray and white kitchen. Our peninsula is a lovely gray and the remaining cabinets are white. Our countertops are cararra marble, and we love it all.
There is just something about gray that looks so, so nice.
Wonderful inspiration pictures. When I had a big humidity problem, the insurance didn’t cover it at all. So all the money I had for my future kitchen went to cover the damages. But it was worth it to have a sound house.
Hope you & your little one feel better soon! Love every single one you shared….I think it will be beautiful when you finish. I am so sorry that you are having to go through all of this….and how spooky it is to hear that your insurance will not pay! That is why we have insurance & it is so disappointing to know that they aren’t doing their job.
Kristen,
What beautiful Inspiration you have chosen-I thought all of your choices were gorgeous. We have been remodeling parts of our home as well, and I too am using white and grey.
I am so sorry about the mold-hopefully this phase of life will be
behind you soon-sending happy thoughts your way!

I’m sure whatever you do, it will be gorgeous just like the last time. Can’t wait to see the finished kitchen.
I have no doubt whatever you decide to do you will pull it together most excellent.

I know exactly what ur going thru. In 2004 I lived in FL and my house was hit with 2 hurricanes within 3 weeks of each other, I was without power for 3 weeks and got mold damage in my whole house. Not only did FEMA turn me down 4 times because I had insurance my insurance turned me down 2 times telling me that my policy didn’t cover Wind Driven Rain, what do u get in a hurricane but Wind Driven Rain. My mold was so bad my house was condemned and I stayed with a friend for over 6 months while I tried to get mined fixed. I finally decided to sell it as is, and it sold in 12 hrs. I took the money and moved out of state. Best wishes and good luck to ur family.
Oh, typical insurance companies! Good luck with that. The pictures you posted are all fabulous and you will have a great time making a new kitchen, and then enjoying it after when you can put it all behind you!
I LOVE these kitchens. I could move right in to any one of them 😉
