Mirror Makeover Using Chalky Paint

It’s thrift store decor day and I’m sharing how to transform a large gold mirror into something a little more updated using Chalky Paint. This mirror belongs to one of my best friends who is the middle of updating their home. She purchased this at a second-hand store a few years back and was ready to give it new life.

Supplies:

2 Inch angle brush

I left a lot of process pictures out, I didn’t realize painting a mirror under a red umbrella outside would make for some horrible pictures. lolDirections Give your piece a good cleaning with a TSP Solution or a soapy rag and allow your piece to dry well.
Mix equal parts of the Black and Gray Chalky Paint
Paint your piece with 2 coats of the mixed paint using an angle brush, allowing it to dry in between coats. For the detail parts of the mirror, I used a small craft brush to really get in-between all of the grooves.

Go over the whole piece with a sanding sponge or fine-grit sandpaper to smooth everything out. I highlighted the detailed parts of the mirror by using a dry craft brush with the smallest amount of white chalky paint.
