Inspire Me Monday #106

Welcome to Inspire Me Monday, so happy you are here!  Sorry for the lack of posts this past week, the kids had spring break so I completely unplugged and it was SO nice! I do however have lots of Spring goodies coming up in the next 2 weeks I’m excited to share with you.

We did have a huge scare with Winston on Easter Sunday.  I was in the kitchen packing for our camping trip and I heard him let out a HUGE yelp and it didn’t stop. I ran into our backyard and he had been bitten by a baby rattle snake.  We rushed him to the ER and honestly didn’t know if he would make it through the night.  So many people praying for him and he pulled through, thank God!  After talking with the boys, they still really wanted to go camping after they knew Winston would be ok.  We had this planned with friends 6 months ago so we did what we did and snuck Winston in with us. He would have had perfect care with our friends but we couldn’t bare to leave him. With his pain meds he was content just being carried around and by the third day he was back to being an active little puppy, we couldn’t be more relieved.  Poor guy has had a tough start to his life.

  1. Oh my word, Kristin! That’s kinda scary indeed… Do you worry about your kids playing outside? We really don’t have to worry about poisonous snakes or bugs up here in NW Wisconsin, and I do always wonder what it would be like to live where there were venomous critters… if it’s a constant worry in the back of your mind or what.

    1. It’s a constant worry! Our home backs up to a canyon so we have had lots of them in our yard, it is so stressful during the spring/summer months. We have a fence and snake fencing and a half wall but they still get through. My poor husband has worked countless hours putting up new fencing and trying to block any type of entryway they could possibly have this whole weekend. We had people come out and lay deterrent out that would be safe for dogs and kids, I just don’t know what to do anymore. It’s the second baby in 2 weeks 🙁

  2. Your poor pup! I am really glad he is okay. That is so scary.
Thank you for hosting a great party every week. It always fun to see the features and creativity.
