Countdown To Winter 2012 – Week 3 Linky Party

I am so excited to be part of the countdown to winter party with these three fabulous ladies this year!

countdown to winter 500

I have had so much fun seeing how everyone is getting ready for the season!  It has been raining like crazy here in San Diego so we have been really enjoying our fireplace.  Our mantel is always the first thing I decorate with every season since it is one of the first things you see when you walk through our front door.

I decided on a very neutral color pallet with pops of silver throughout the whole house this year.

On our family nights we have enjoyed playing board games and watching movies with the fire on and the lights twinkling.

I have had a ton of fun making beaded Christmas trees and ornaments this year.

Something about twinkle lights that make everything look so magical.

If you missed Last week, Kim shared her fabulous front door.

Cherry shared her beautiful LODGE ORNAMENT!

Maryann from Domestically Speaking will wrap up the party next week!

Now it is your turn, we are so excited to see what you have been working on!

Party Guidelines: Anything Winter Holiday related is welcome (crafts, projects, décor, recipes).

I will be featuing, pinning and Facebooking all week so please link back with either a party button or a link back to this page.  Have fun!

DIY beaded ornaments

~Hi Friends~

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week.  It just hit me that Christmas is 2 weeks away and I haven’t gone shopping yet, nothing like waiting till the last minute!  I have been having all sorts of fun crafting though.  Maybe that’s my problem.  When we made our beaded trees we thought it would be fun to make ornaments as well.

The dollar store sells the styrofoam balls, beats having to pay $3 bucks for one at the craft stores.

Insert a wire at the top so you can attach the ribbon when you are all finished.

Round up all the beads and sparkles you have laying around.  The dollar store is also great for this, I buy the beaded garland and cut them up.  For the pearls and glass beads you will need to go to a craft store.

Hot glue, hot glue and more hot glue till you are in love with your creation.  Tie a bow and you are all done, you really can’t go wrong.

They look pretty displayed on a glass platter with faux snow or hanging from the Christmas tree.

Even the boys have started to make some although there have been a few hot glue ouchies.

Don’t forget to link up on Friday and show us how you are getting ready for Christmas.  I’ll be featuring and pinning a ton of your creations next week.

DIY Christmas Crafts

~Hi Friends~

Hope you are having a great weekend! We have been super busy with soccer tournaments but have found a little bit of time to watch some Christmas movies and look at beautiful Christmas lights.

I had to share more highlights from last weeks links, some serious talent that is sure to give you loads of inspiration.

Live Love DIY has to have one of the most beautiful wreaths out there.  Hmmm…wonder if I could make one?

I love the mix of burlap and silk Design Dinning and Diapers used to create these gorgeous stockings

These gorgeous homemade gift tags from Making Home Base are just beautiful!

Check out It’s Overflowing felt Mistletoe, her version blows West Elm’s out of the water.

All of the signs displayed in a group at The Creek Line House makes a huge impact.

Sweet Little Bluebird turned her wreaths into a fun snowman. My boys would love this!

Shop Ruby Jean shows us how to make beautiful fingerless gloves.

It’s not to late to start a advent calendar, you will just be missing a few days.  How cute is this one from Casa Haus.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and thank you so much for stopping by!
