DIY Glass Filled Ornaments

These DIY Glass-filled ornaments are a great and inexpensive way to personalize your Christmas tree this year and they also make fabulous gifts!   I know what you are thinking, Christmas already, can’t we just get through Thanksgiving.  I agree, however,  if you are going the homemade route, or working on gifts,  you can never start too soon.  Although I’ll admit,  it does feel little strange making ornaments when it’s 80 degree’s outside.

Supplies:

Glass Balls Clear
Faux Snow
Ribbon
Mini Christmas Embellishments
Clear Fishing Line
Scissors
Funnel (optional)

Directions

Remove the top of the ornament

Fill the ornament with Faux Snow about 1/4 full, you can use a funnel or make one out of paper.

A pop cake holder was the perfect solution so I had both hands free.

If you are adding a embellishment with more weight (an example would be a mini tree) you can just add the tree through the hole at the top.   However, these mini hats would not stay upright so I tied some clear fishing line around the ball of the hat.  Stuff the hat through the hole at the top of the ornament put the top of the ornament back on with the fishing line on the outside of the ornament and tied a knot.

A simple piece of ribbon tied in a bow does the trick for the hanger

The possibilities are endless you can add so many fun embellishments to make your tree truly beautiful!
