Styling the bookshelves

~Hi friends~
Did I mention I am done styling the bookshelves?
The best part is I only had to purchase one item
 to pull it all together.
I haven’t had a minute to snap some pictures so I though it would be fun to show you where my inspiration came from.  Each and every one of these beautiful pictures played a part.
Love the pottery displayed on top.

Display of books and magazines is beautiful.

Gorgeous with a  pop of color.
Hopefully by next week I will have a few pictures to share of the space.
Enjoy your weekend!

  1. Hey Kirstin! You certainly have me wondering on that one item you got to pull it all together as you say in your introduction. Styling bookshelves, sometimes I love it, sometimes I hate it; so you really got me curious.
    Have a great weekend,
    Marian

  7. Bookshelves are the hardest thing~I will be curious to see if yours are done so they are pretty, or they are functional or both!

  8. Hi Kristin, how funny you posted this. I too have been looking at shelves, book cases, kitchen shelves and hutches just to get a feel how to organize and display on ours. We have books…loads of books and I wanted to lessen the look and create a few eye appealing displays…so I've been looking and looking and capturing some ideas myself. Looking forward to seeing what you have done. The real trick for me is to purge and get rid of some things. I read if you don't love it or need it you MIGHT NEED TO GET RID OF IT! Hahahaha…we will see.
    Blessings,
    Debbie

  15. Having attempted to style a bookcase (well two actually) myself I know how difficult it is to get it right. I tried colour sorting, height sorting you name it to make my books look right and struggled to find the balance between my books and selected ornaments.

I especially love the framed prints above the bookcase in the third pic you posted. I should try that as it may divert attention away from my haphazed bookcase styling.

Look forward to seeing what you've done.
