Spooky And Elegant Halloween Decor

*This post is sponsored by Balsam Hill.

I have been having so much fun decorating the INSIDE of our home for Halloween, giving it a spooky and elegant vibe!  I don’t usually pay too much attention to the inside, normally the kids and I just concentrate on the outside but I have to tell you, I am really enjoying it!

Before I get into all the fun decor I have to say October is always a scary month for us in California with low humidity, heat advisories and high winds. I am praying for all those affected by the wild fires we are having, my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I created our spooky mantel around this black velvet runner with cobweb beading and removable spiders. It is completely enchanting when mixed with other spooky decorations.  It’s amazing how much the ambiance changes from night to day which you can see in the pictures.

When evening comes and all the lights are lit, it’s a little spooky and a little romantic all at the same time, I love how these trees give off an amber glow!

These Miracle Flame LED Candles are my new favorite candles! They look incredibly real and have special technology that makes them flicker.  My husband came home and about had a heart attack because I as burning candles, the thing is, I always have our candles on but you can tell they are fake, this one had everyone fooled!  (our bathroom burned down due to a candle a few years back so we don’t burn real candles) The boys love the remote and changing the brightness and flicker speed of the flame!

White Chocolate Strawberry Ghosts

  • 24 Fresh strawberries
  • Mini chocolate chips

Instructions
  1. Melt Ghirardelli Chocolate Melting Wafers according to directions on package.

  1. I decorate for my kids. Nothing scary. I have the window clings up and some friendly Halloween character figurines on the tables.

  2. I love how you decorated your fireplace with the spider web! We just decorate with pumpkins because the hubby is ho hum about Halloween. But I love Halloween!

  3. My grandsons are always encouraging me to decorate but I only do a carved pumpkin with a light inside and maybe a few other decorations like a big hairy spider on a hook. When my 4 children were young I really went all out with cobwebs and more scary things as they got older but not anymore but it’s still fun!

  4. My Husband and I decorate Kid friendly. We love Halloween and want all ages to enjoy without scaring off the little ones.

  5. our kids are grown but I still have fun decorating and I even dress up as a ghost for Halloween each year. I decorate every place I can with a spooky tree filled with Halloween ornaments, we have a village that many light up or play spooky music. I like to have candles glowing and bake some favorite cookies and cakes

  6. This year, we made our own headstones for mini graveyard. They were so easy to make. Hoping to add a few skeleton touches.

  7. This will be my first Halloween in my own house. My husband and I are planning on cutting some bats out of black construction paper and taping them to the garage door. It’s not much, but at least it’s a start.

  8. Another darling home decorated for Halloween!
Love the big fat spider and the dreamy draped scarf.
I saw the latter on @balsamhills Facebook page a few days ago and posted to them how much I liked it and I’d wear it too!
I’m that lady on your block who goes all out crazy for decorating at Christmas..you know the one..except I do it for Halloween.
You name it I do it..on my porch I. The house.
Spiders, snakes, webs, roaches, bugs, eyes, teeth..witches, bats cats, scarecrows..corn..graves..everything.
    I love it all!
    Thanks

  9. Love the spider bowl! We also make mdf tombstones every year. We change the sayings to keep them trending? Like one year was “Um.. better call Saul…” It’s a fun, family tradition that appeals to all ages and the neighbors love them! laura

  10. I decorate with pumpkins, pinecones and acorns throughout the house. It goes up around the 1st of September and stays through Thanksgiving. Right before Halloween, I add a few jackolanterns and scarecrows and it changes to turkeys for Thanksgiving. Nothing elaborate, but just enough to get me into the holiday mood
