Homemade coconut oil facial scrub

I recently jumped on the Coconut Oil bandwagon and wanted to share one of my most favorite things about it.……a homemade facial scrub……

Ingredients:

Using equal parts of Pure Baking Soda
and Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
creates the perfect exfoliating homemade facial scrub.

*****Mini mason jars used for jams or a Glass Jar with Leak Proof Rubber Gasket and Hinged Lid  are perfect for storing the scrub.

Just place the two ingredients in a jar and mix.  (I used a empty face lotion jar but a mason jar would work just as well)

Since it is a solid take a little out of the jar and add just enough water to form a thick paste before rubbing on your face.  It seriously feels so good I’ve been known to put it over my whole body!

I make a batch about once every two weeks and leave it in the shower.  I massage it into my face everyday and it gives my skin a fabulous glow and leaves it super soft. You can’t beat the price either!

When I was staying at the hospital last week I  brought the minimum and let me tell you my skin was a dry mess. Try it for a few weeks and see the results, hope you love it as much as I do!

Grayson has a followup with the cardiologist  today for a heart echo and blood work, please keep him in your thoughts.

 Hugs and Love-Kristin

About the coconut oil, I love it too. I haven’t tried it as a scrub but I do use it morning and night as a moisturizer. I cook with it and I “swish” with it. (Oil pulling, which is something I just found out about…a detoxer) I love the Trader Joe’s brand also.

  3. I am so glad you are in the middle of this week instead of last!! May Grayson’s appt. go well and you hear good news about his recovery. Totally loving the idea of this scrub – I have been making a sugar scrub and keeping it in the shower, but it’s too rough for this old face…..the baking soda/coconut oil sounds much gentler and I can’t wait to try it. Thanks for sharing!

  8. Heya! Looking awesome.

More recently I have been looking to buy some rugs.. anyone know any sites?
I’ve heard about Rugman.com? Any experiences there? 🙂

  9. I love this combo so much. There are so many sources for good organic coconut oil. Even Costco. I mix mine in my blendtec blender to whip it up with the baking soda. No need for expensive facials this is the best scrub by far. It’s not going to go rancid on you and I use mine every night with a rosewood spoon and ball jar. I think the crystals in baking soda are smaller than sugar its so fine and they don’t break down…the results are fabulous. No better eye makeup remover than coconut oil by itself!
