For the love of books

Our boys love to read!
It is a good thing but the amount of books in the house is a little out of control.
We have had this toy chest for about 10 years and it’s seen it’s share of paint colors.
I decided to give it a makeover using Annie Sloan’s French Linen paint.
I first used a sharpie to write the letters.
Filled the letters in.

Sanded them down.

Added  dark wax on top.

Wiped off the excess with the clear wax.

Leaves such a pretty finish.

The boys love it and I get to close the bin, mom is a happy girl!

You can see more of the boys room here.

Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Oh, my goodness. I relate to the mountain of books. I am in my thirties and still have books from when I was a little girl. Add what we have picked up for our toddlers….
And I am in LOVE with the boy's room!
