End Table Makeover

Hi friends I’m back again this month for our thrift store challenge and this month I gave an end table a fun and colorful makeover.  I would love to keep this piece for myself but I have much better plans for it.  I’ll be sharing that story with all of you very soon.

So here is the before, great lines, sturdy wood and I love the 2 tiers!  I decided to use the Chalk paint on this piece because of the ease of the paint and I didn’t have much time.

Directions

Clean the table really well using a damp cloth.

Apply this first coat using a foam roller for the top and a 1″ brush for the sides. Allow to dry, apply the second coat using the same process in step 1.   If you have areas that have bleed through, you can touch up with a third coat.

After everything was dry, I smoothed everything out using a sanding sponge.

The last step was to protect the paint job.  Using Americana Decor Creme Wax, I applied it with a rag and buffed it with another clean rag.

(I originally used a dark red for the first coat but decided I wanted a lighter color and went for the salmon coral on the second coat.  Hence the change in color, nope it’s not your eyes playing tricks on you)

  1. I’m not one to paint wood furniture myself, but this transformation is amazing! The color you chose was made for that table.

    1. Thank you so much. I know painted furniture isn’t for everyone so I really appreciate your comment 🙂 Wishing you a great day!
