DIY Bathroom Makeovers On A Budget

Hi friends, I’m back again for our DIY housewife series, this month is all about bathrooms!  Four years ago we started the process of remodeling our master bathroom ourselves.  We had the typical oak cabinets, 3 inch white tile countertops, mini blinds and the big surround bathtub.  We started by updating the cabinets with a coat of paint and installing a new backsplash.

Next, we found some shutters on craigslist and Ray was able to cut them down to fit our windows.

In 2016 we installed a LED light/fan/speaker combo which we absolutely love, and someone in this family LOVES singing in the shower.  (might be the youngest but I’m not telling)

Lastly we have updated the paint on the walls and changed out some art work!  We are thrilled with the results and more excited that we were able to do this on a HUGE budget!  We still have more to do but all in time it will be done!

A beautiful collection of bathroom makeovers all done on a budget!

  1. Love this makeover. I am trying to convince “first” husband we need to remove our hot tub size tub. But what caught my attention is your Craig List find. We recently removed our custom shutters (from previous owners) to get the mountain views of Colorado. We assumed these custom size shutters would never work on another home. I might have to test the waters on Craig’s List (they take up a ton of room to store). Happy New Year Kristin! laura

    1. Thank you so much Laura, it took a few cuts and glue/staples to put it back together but after the paint, you would never know 🙂
