Bathroom Fixer Upper

Congratulations to my sister, Janet and her man, Court for buying a new house! It is a real fixer upper and Ray and I have had fun sharing our input with them! While we were over there the other day taking pictures, we talked about different ways to fix up their funky, outdated bathroom. The master bath is a very small space and in need of a complete overhaul. The possibilities are endless!

Janet and Court know they want a combination of carrera marble and stone in their bathroom. Carrera marble is oh so luxurious, timeless and durable in the bathroom.
Stone has a beauty and depth that just can’t be matched. Keeping in mind that Janet and Court would like to use a gray/black and white palette, I did a little browsing for some eye candy to give them some inspiration.
I love white gloss bathroom furniture  combined with carrera marble counter tops. The sleek, nickel hardware really adds to the contemporary feel of this bathroom and the darker gray of the soapstone subway tiles is an amazing contrast while keeping within the same palette of color.

Although not quite as modern looking, this gorgeous vanity is the perfect size for Janet and Court’s space, by using a smaller vanity, their bathroom will feel a bit larger than it is does now.

I am crazy about the marble floor tiles in this bathroom! I really like the larger tiles mixed with the contrasting, smaller tiles. Very modern looking don’t you think?

On the other hand, I also like the classic feel of this floor. The carrera marble mosaic tiles and white grout are so gorgeous!

Here’s an idea! Let’s just put the stunning carrera marble on the counter top and the floor! So decadent and beautiful!

When trying to come up with ideas for bathroom suites, the possibilities are endless. I am head over heels for this dark gray soapstone counter top. It looks so fantastic mixed with the modern, white open concept vanity and all the beautiful windows.

I am so excited for Janet and Court and their new home. I know they will have a great time making it just the way they want it!  Looking forward to sharing more pictures with you and following them along in the process!

  4. Yes, I do thank you for leaving the bowl part of the biff out! My imagination ran wild with the "why" so that was probably just as bad as seeing it!

It will be wonderful when done.
