Top projects of 2010

It’s been fun to look back on my first year of blogging and see all that my husband and I have accomplished this past year.
I don’t think we have completed a project that gave us more satisfaction then our Kitchen transformation.  It is truly amazing what some paint and wood can do to any room!
You can read all about how we added height to our cabinets, reinvented our island and painted the cabinets here.

In February I had a blast turning this fabulous antique desk into a beauty.
In March my husband and I had so much fun turning our guest room into a french escape.  We had a lot of interest in how we installed the double stacked crown molding, you can watch the video here.
In April we transformed my closet into a little slice of heaven using a closet organizer we found off Craigslist.
For May I enjoyed turning our boys bathroom into a beachy oasis
In June the kitchen pantry was in need of some organization
In July, my grandmother had given us some furniture after the passing of my Grandfather. I enjoy having my Grandmothers chair that I repainted in our master bedroom.
I had never reupholstered anything, so In August I was thrilled that my bench turned out not perfect but good enough for me.
In September my only regret was that I didn’t paint my front door black sooner!
In October I loved adding a accent wall in our dinning room with a stencil!
November was the beginning of transforming our foyer, my favorite part was painting our table.
In December it was all about Christmas and I had a blast decorating this year!
Revisiting 2010 has me very excited to see what 2011 has in store!  So many plans, so many projects and the best part, sharing them with you!

DIY tea towels

Hi Friends-
Hope this week is off to a great start for you!
Other then the stockings, everything “Christmas” will stay until next weekend.
I always feel like the house is so naked and bare when everything comes down.
This year I’m going to try to incorporate some of the Christmas items I’ve used into everyday use.
So here it goes:

My painted ladder that hung the stockings will be used to hang the tea towels I made. (you can read about that here
What do you think? Is it a keeper?

How about you?  Do you take everything down right away or stretch the season into January?

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a extra special Christmas! Thank you to everyone for stopping in over your busy weekend to say hi.
I’ll be honest with you, I don’t want it to be over!  I was singing Christmas songs yesterday and my little guy said “MOM It’s not Christmas anymore, stop singing those songs.”  He’s my feisty one and wants to take down all the decorations.
Sorry, the decorations will stay up for one more week. My mother in law is coming to stay with us, my husband has the week off and I’m going to sit back and take it all in!  This doesn’t happen at my house too often and I’m really excited about it!  So, I’ll be checking in and out all week but for the most part it will be pretty slow around here while I cherish my time spent with family.
Here are some  pictures of the most important people in my life that shared a very special day with us.

Mom, grandma and Sophie
My sister and boyfriend

My little ham making his pizza
roasting marshmellows
Even Santa paid us a extra special visit

Bet you didn’t know my brother has the most amazing voice and has been the lead singer of a reggae band for many years!

Tuesday’s Treasures will still be here tomorrow, feel free to link up!

Merry Christmas from my family to yours!

Merry Christmas friends!

For Today’s Feature Friday, I’m at ‘Hi Sugarplum’. I have really enjoyed getting to know Cassie these past few months and was so honored when she asked me to participate in  her “Best of the Best” series. Please stop in and say hello, you  will find out what I do to relax after Christmas is over.

I also wanted to take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas.  Each one of you have been a  huge blessing in in my life and for that I am so grateful! Your friendship and support means more to me than you will ever know!

Cherish the time spent with your family making memories and say a extra prayer for those that
are not as fortunate.

All my love-

A huge thank you and hug to my wonderful friend Irene who took time out of her busy day to take our Christmas pictures very last minute!

Tablescape and a Christmas house tour

The table is set, the lasagnas are being made, the presents are wrapped. All that is left is  left is enjoying this with my family I love so much!
I know I’m late on the house tour, only showing bits and pieces here and there.

I figured it would be better late then never.

As a little girl I always used to help my mom set the table when we had big parties!
To this day I still love setting the table and my six year old always
gives me a helping hand!

Enjoy the tour and from
the bottom of my heart
thank you for taking a few moments out of your day to stop by.

Merry Christmas!
